Jessie Welsh

B.M. Piano Performance & Music Ed, M.M. in Progress

Jessie Welsh graduated from the University of Central Florida and received bachelor’s degrees in both Piano Performance (BM) and Music Education (BME). While at UCF, Jessica studied piano under the tutelage of French pianist, Laurent Boukobza. She gave many public performances at UCF, and she was a finalist in both the UCF Concerto Competition and UCF’s solo competition, Performance Excellence. Jessie has played in master classes for internationally-acclaimed pianists such as Gregiorios Zamparas and Rebecca Penneys. She has also attended music camps in Paris, France and Bruges, Belgium. She completed her student teaching under the guidance of Bonnie Shea at Sabal Point Elementary.

After completing her undergraduate degrees, Jessie continued her piano studies privately with acclaimed pianist and pedagogue, Rebecca Penneys (Eastman School of Music). She operated a studio from her home in Central Florida and also served on the faculty at the Saint Andrew’s Conservatory of Music in Sanford, FL. In addition, she was an active accompanist in the Orlando area, regularly accompanying ballet classes at The School of Performing Arts in Fern Park, FL.

Jessie has participated in events with the Florida Federation of Music Club, National Guild of Music, District Student Day, District Honors Audition (Central Florida), and other local competitions and events - both as a student and a teacher.

Because of her love of piano repertoire and desire to teach students of all levels, Jessie is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University. She is a Graduate Teaching Assistant and student of Dr. Carole Leone.

Ultimately, Jessie desires to share her love of music with others full-time through both performing and teaching.
