Nigel Rivers


In the short time since his teenage decision to be a professional musician, Nigel Rivers has made quite a name for himself throughout the DFW metroplex, and the world. His career began in his high school years, which led to his decision to pursue a Jazz degree from the world-renowned University of North Texas, from which he received his Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in bass. Since 2012 he has been classified as a recording, and touring, electric/acoustic bassist. He has traveled the world with artists like Chrisette Michele, Erykah Badu and Eric Roberson. He currently plays throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area with bands like The Gritz, led by renowned keyboardist RC Williams (of Erykah Badu); Shawn Martin’s Go-Go Band, led by the Grammy award-winner (Kirk Franklin); artists such as Natalie the Floacist (of the group Floetry), Phyfe and Q-Tip, Algebra Blessett, Eric McFadden (Parliament), Raheem Devaughn, Stokely (Mint Condition); and many, many more.
