Zach Polson

B.M. M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy

Zach Polson is a native of Overland Park, Kansas, where he began studying music at the age of 4 with his parents. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where he studied piano with Karen Ann Krieger. He recently earned his Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at Southern Methodist University while working with Dr. Catharine Lysinger and Dr. Carol Leone.

As an educator, Zach strives to give students purpose and inspiration at the piano in preparation for a lifetime of musical enjoyment. He previously taught students in private and group settings as an instructor in the Piano Preparatory departments at Vanderbilt University and Southern Methodist University. Zach also instructed university courses at Southern Methodist University and developed class piano programs for young students in both Dallas and Nashville. He has offered master classes throughout the Midwest, most recently instructing master classes for students of all ages sponsored by the Olathe Music Teachers Association, in 2015.

As a performer, Zach has given solo piano recitals in Kansas, Texas, and Tennessee. He performed in a set of interactive lecture-recitals at Heritage Christian Academy in Kansas in both 2014 and 2015. In addition to teaching and performing, he also maintains an active schedule as an accompanist throughout the Dallas area.
