Alicia is a proud graduate from Texas Wesleyan University. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. She began taking piano lessons at age ten with Dorothy Thomas. From that time, she participated in piano competitions and recitals from fifth through twelfth grade.
After graduation from twelfth grade, Alicia entered Wesleyan and found her home in the Music Department. She studied piano with Dr. Ilka Araújo. As a music student, Alicia performed both solo piano and piano chamber works. She also sang with the Wesleyan Women’s Chorus as well as the Wesleyan Chorale (2016-19). Additionally, she was President of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity (2018-19). Alicia is also the second prize winner of the 2019 Sigma Alpha Iota Inter-American Music Repertoire Competition.
Alicia will start Fall 2019 in the music therapy program at Texas Woman’s University and study piano with Dr. Richard Shuster.
