Make-up Lessons
We do not schedule make-up lessons, however we have two great options if you aren’t able to make your lesson in person (online or video)!
5 Steps for a successful Online Lesson
App or Program?
Communicate IN ADVANCE, directly with your teacher about which platform you will use: FaceTime or Zoom.
Be Ready!
Set up 5 minutes before your lesson start time. This means:
- Use the bathroom
- Make sure all of your materials are ready and in front of you
- Bring a pencil, and maybe a few markers or highlighters to mark your music at your teacher’s request
Camera Angle
This should be the view a teacher has from their standpoint during in-person lessons. This means the camera may need to be propped up, so that the teacher can see your face AND your hands in the camera’s view.
Call
Wait for your teacher to call you–they may be a minute or two behind, so please be a little patient!
Follow-up
Please update your assignment sheet in preparation for the next lesson.
3 Steps for a Successful Video Lesson
Videos need to be in your teachers inbox PRIOR to your regular lesson time. Your teacher is utilizing your REGULR LESSON TIME, not adding to his/her personal schedule. If you do not have your videos uploaded at the time of your lesson and shared with your teacher, we cannot guarantee you will receive lesson feedback and an updated assignment.
Record
Record your assignment videos and upload to Vimeo or YouTube.
Send the links to your teacher
Send the links to your teacher via Email, or in your My Music Staff account. This needs to be done PRIOR to your scheduled lesson time. The point is your teacher will use your lesson time to view and provide feedback.
Check your email for teacher feedback
and/or written notes regarding your assignment and make any updates to your assignment sheet in your binder in preparation for the following lesson.
